EE picked up GMAC and Grace Friday and took them to Comerosa to spend the night. Mommy and Daddy helped Amy move into her new apartment.
Daddy took GMAC and Grace swimming both Friday night and again on Saturday morning! Then Miss Amy stayed with us the weekend, providing lot's of play time with GMAC and Grace. On Sunday, after OHUMC Church, Daddy BBQ'ed Chicken on the smoker, mmm, good!
GMAC was made an Honorary Deputy Fire Chief by Mayor Daniel Guerrero of San Marcos, TX. Mommy took GMAC and Grace to a Touch a Truck event in San Marcos on Friday to meet Melissa and Tate (Tater Tot). Despite Mommy's approval, GMAC had insisted that morning to dress in full fireman gear (boots, pants, shirt, jacket, helmet, and equipped with megaphone and walkie-talkie). When they got out of the car to walk up to the event, they were approached by local media cameramen and mayor for the photo opp. Photographs were snapped up with the Mayor as well as on the firetrucks (areal ladder truck, brush breaker, and pumper truck). So now it is official, Garrett Mikeal Anderson Comer is an Honorary Deputy Fire Chief of San Marcos, TX. Congratulations boy!
We went up to the lake and grilled at the community Steak Out! It was a lot of fun. All the grills were red hot when we arrived with some tender rib eyes. All of the yummy sides and dessert were provided. Afterwards there were door prizes for the children, of which not only GMAC won, but Grace did as well! A new boys and girls drink cup and beach towels! They had a blast and fell asleep in the truck on the ride back home.
Author and friend, Jeanne Rutan Murray, gave and autographed her book Ride Like a Cowboy from the Learn And Discover How To… Series of books. GMAC and Grace look forward to many readings of this great book. Thank you Jeanne!
On Sunday, after church at OHUMC, and a short nap at home, we met EE and GP at Sam's Club and bought a new full size box frame and mattress, then went home and disassembled Grace's crib and converted it into it's final piece, a full size bed for GMAC. We switched beds and Grace got her a new bed, too. Daddy's old top bunk bed! They both loved their new beds and Grace even slept through the night in hers. This is a welcome relief for both Mommy and Daddy whom we often all sleep together in one bed when we put them down to sleep for the night.
We all left for Port Aransas on Friday afternoon. The whole family packed up in Daddy truck and headed out for Memorial Day Weekend Vacation at the Coast with friends! GMAC and Grace quickly fell asleep and Daddy stopped at Smitty's for his traditional lunch of brisket, ribs, and sausage, in Lockhart. We took the long 'scenic' route that Daddy has enjoyed for these trips as a child and adult. We got to the ferry and traffic stopped a mile from the dock, but it only took less than a half hour to get onto the boat and cross by vehicle. We drove down the main drag, Cotter Avenue and saw our beautiful home that we found off of VRBO.com. A little blue 2 story, 4 bedroom house on piers.

Mommy and Daddy Celebrate their 6 Year Wedding Anniversary on May 21. It was just a short time ago, long before our beautiful babies, that we joined hands in marriage in a little old church in Austin, Texas at the little movie 'prop' studio Star Hill Ranch. We have gone through a lot in such a short time, including adding GMAC and Grace to our family. It seems as though it has been seven years, but not just yet. Mommy is taking a photography class on Monday's, so we will have to celebrate on a different night with a very generous gift from Goo Goo and Papa to one of our favorite steak houses in Austin, Ruth Chris and where Jenny order's her absolute favorite, Crab Cakes. Happy Anniversary My Love.
On Friday night, our family friends invited us to a UT vs the number 1 team in the country, Baylor (for the first time in their program history) at Disch-Falk Field on the University of Texas campus. Daddy and Mommy took GMAC for his second baseball game experience and Grace to her first! Our friends had won with a bid at a Seton charity event, so they had 20 tickets to probably the best box seats suite in the stadium. It was in the University Federal Credit Union's box, with plenty of inside and outside seating. A foul ball came up and even hit our window, leaving a mark! Food was available, finger appetizers, quesadillas, baked potato, hamburgers, and oh so yummy ballpark hotdogs!! Even the mascot "Hook 'Em" came by for photos!! Daddy kept calling him, Bevo, and so did GMAC, good thing he couldn't talk or he would have been able to express his displeasure with being mistaken for that cow! I hadn't been to a game here in 10 or so years, long before it was remodeled and added onto, but never it such an extravagant area.
It was a great chance to see the #1 team, but unfortunately it wasn't UT, which had just fallen to #7. They lost the night before, as this did this night, too. We also saw Mommy's dentist at the game. He was sitting right up front, just behind home plate, it was a great seat, too! We went down and visited him and he insisted on getting some Cotton Candy for the kids, good thing we couldn't find any, as they would have gotten crazy! Poor Grace, she started running a fever, as she got some sun on the top of her head, where the part in her hair is at, so she fell asleep early. But she was fighting it and did not want to leave early.
On Saturday, Daddy attended WordCamp Austin, down on a campus on Westgate, read more about his attendance. Mommy played with GMAC and Grace for most of the day to their delight! EE came by and picked up GMAC only, since Grace was still feeling a little ill. Then we went to Jenny's Dentist home for a going away party for one of her fellow coworkers. His parties are always a blast!! And tonight was no different, complete with superior white and red wines, good tunes, and great food catered by one of our favorites, Mandola's Italian Market. Goo Goo watched our little Grace for us and even brought her some Pizza Pizza! The girls had a great time, so good that they were still up when we made it home as late as we did.
On Sunday, we went to Comerosa to pick up GMAC, who had stayed the night with Cade. Then we went to OHUMC for church services. We went home had lunch, a nap, then rode around the street with GMAC learning on his bike without pedals, seat, or training wheels, so that he learns balance.
Sold out, but I was able to win a ticket and was able to attend and learn and meet a lot of people and network. A great Saturday!
