Lost Engagement Wedding Diamond Ring in Gruene, TX
This past Sunday, October the 2nd, my wife, Jenny Comer, and her girl friends shared a little weekend together at the in Gruene, Texas. While shopping around town she lost her wedding ring, the band that I proposed our engagement with over 6 years ago. We have looked all over in the little town, but have not been able to find it. We have talked to all of the shop owners, nice people, and loved everywhere. I see on your site that you helped a military family find their rings in the river. I am trying to keep hope that we will find it and I wanted to reach out for your help. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do to help get our story out to people, in case they find this ring.
Sincerely,
Matthew Comer

NEW BRAUNFELS — A fun weekend trip to Comal County has turned into heartbreak for an Austin couple
Jenny Comer of Austin and some of her girlfriends visited Gruene on Sunday. According to her husband Matthew, while shopping around town she lost her wedding ring — “the band that I proposed our engagement with over six years ago.”
“We have looked all over in the little town, but have not been able to find it,” Comer wrote in an email to the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung. “We have talked to all of the shop owners — nice people — and loved everywhere.
“I see on your (website) that you helped a military family find their rings in the river. I am trying to keep hope that we will find it, and I wanted to reach out for your help.
“Please let us know if there is anything that we can do to help get our story out to people, in case they find this ring.”

Lost wedding ring
This is the ring Jenny Comer of Austin lost Sunday in Gruene. If you have seen the ring, email Managing Editor Shawn Lewis at slewis@herald-zeitung or call (830) 625-9144, ext. 220. The Comers can be reached by mac40_98@yahoo.com.
Additional Notes: Lost in Comal County. The girls stayed at the Gruene Homestead Inn, next to Tavern in the Gruene. And walked around the town Sunday before departing. This is when she noticed that her ring was missing as she had it the night before. Could be around the historic oldest dance hall in Texas, Gruene Hall. Or near The Grist Mill Restaurant. The KNBT-FM, the 25th Annual Gruene Music & Wine Fest festival occurred the following weekend in the parking lot where I actually did discover a lone small carat diamond in crack in the asphalt in the parking lot. It is being tested now to see if it is cubic zirconia or a diamond.
Update: This was a lazy weekend, except for the fact that the entire family along with EE and GP descended on Gruene, TX on an early Saturday morning to again scour the earth for Jenny’s lost Wedding Engagement diamond ring. The ring was sought after on the day it was lost Oct. 2, as well as the following day Oct. 3., and then again today Oct. 8. Several dozen eyes have looked for this ring, but it was not found.
Update
I want to thank the people of Gruene, New Braunfels, and the community of Comal County for the outpouring of help, concern, good wishes, and positive attitude toward the recover of this little token of love.
My wife Jenny’s white gold 5 diamond (1 larger diamond, surrounded by 4 slighter smaller diamonds) on the band Wedding Engagement ring was lost on the morning of October 02, 2011. Her and her girlfriends stayed at the Gruene Homestead Inn, next to Tavern in the Gruene. She had her ring with her Saturday night, but the ring went missing the Sunday morning when they walked around Gruene before departing to return to Austin. So we are thinking that it is most likely somewhere around the town of Gruene, along the streets and by the shops, by Gruene Hall, near The Grist Mill Restaurant, anywhere really All of the shop owners know us and know of our story and our helping to get the word out.
After the initial search on October 2, we returned and searched again on October 3 and conducted a full day search with a metal detector. Then again on October 8 during the 5th Annual Gruene Music & Wine Fest festival, but nothing has surfaced yet. I did happen to find a lone cubic zirconia diamond in a crack in the asphalt in the parking lot where the festival was being held. So that’s how hard we are looking!
If you find this little ring, please please contact me and I will make sure that you take your due REWARD for your good deed.
